So today was the first day of our 5 day journey to Georgia from California. Our trip started off very eventful the day before we left. We were trying to save time in the morning by packing the night before and I drove into the garage for more light. The only problem with that was that we had already to attached the roof bag with stuff in it to the top of the Truck ~whoops! It didn't cause much damage but I am glad we bought a cargo net since I broke the straps off of it (Cheezy Grin). After we fixed that we noticed some thing moving around outside and the dog started to alert us of danger. So Tony grabbed the flashlight (that I kept out ~so prepared) and I ran in to see if my cat was still in the house. We thought it could be a coyote and it may have taken off with her. Yes, it was the cat and when Tony found her she was covered in thorns and her back was bowed up as high as it could get. I ran over to get her because the last time Tony grabbed her while she was in a frightened state she bit him and clawed him to pieces. I picked her up and we took her inside to find her back paws were bleeding and a few of her claws were missing. Thorns were in her ears, head, eyebrows, whiskers, her left eye, and in her nose. I had to pick them out one by one. Her mouth was bleeding as well. After we got things settled back down we thought about what could have happened. We think she saw some small critter that lives in a thorn bush and got tangled up in the thorns. She bolted away to the fence and may have gotten caught in it and possibly bit the fencing and chewed her back feet up trying to get out. At this point she is still very skittish and has eaten very little but she is traveling well. We did get a picture of her at the Grand Canyon, she kept hearing the 'call the of the wild'!She is sleeping alot and not being a pain like the dog. . . . Okay so Bailey is not a good traveler. However, this is not her first time at the rodeo. I took her to GA in the car a few years ago, so it took her a couple of hours to stop freaking out. I The baby did exceptionally well; the DVD player is a life saver! So here are some of our pics from the first day. . . .
Hello everyone, I hope you are eating turkey and spending time with those you love. We are getting the chance to have dinner with a couple of friends that we had Thanksgiving Dinner with about 4 years ago. Only this year we have grown, from just 4 adults to a large crowd with kids! It was a fun day but many naps were skipped and sleep was needed. We are so Thankful to have great friends that open their hearts and homes to us. We are going to miss The Rummler's, AGAIN! This year we also got to spend the holiday with Jane and Peachy Benz. Tony used to work for Jane's husband at TTECG and he is in Iraq until Spring time. We missed you Dan and Godspeed; Stay Safe! The Benz's will also be missed when we leave. Peachy and Madison loved to do "lunch" together (as well as their Mommies=( ). . . .hopefully we will see everyone again in the future. Today was about spending time with good people and watching our children play. The Princesses decided to parade aroundbut one of the gowns was dragging the floor so we had to switch over to the Petti-skirt and that was just right. Gonna have to find us one of those somewhere! After a little while the handsome astronaut showed up to take the Princesses on a date. Madi got into the toilet tissue (a few times). . . We know you did it; we can see it behind you.

Tony and I have been super busy trying to tie up all our loose ends here in CA. We had to change our date for leaving to Friday now because they pushed the packing back one day. I wanted to post some pictures of the baby from the last few weeks of happenings. We have managed to have a little fun while tackling the daunting task of preparing to move! Tony and I are so excited to be spending time with our families for the holiday's this year. I know everyone is going to love getting to know Madison better, and she will love all the attention. Love and miss you all and wish you all the best for Thanksgiving!
Okay well I pulled out my calendar and was stunned to realize I am on a rapid countdown. I have a little over 2 weeks left, but with a big holiday included~time is running out! There is still so much I want to do; so I am trying really hard to fit it all in. I really don't want leave any loose ends untied and give Kharma any reason for sending me/us back here (hahaha). I really will miss all my friends that I am leaving behind; you guys are like extended family. But it is finally my turn to leave this place; I hope you all will be happy for me. I also thought it was about time I filled everyone in on the next month's plans. Tony has orders to report to MC3 (Maneuver Captains Career Course) in Fort Knox, KY on Jan 1st. We have plans for the Packers to come on December 1st, 2nd, and 3rd; they will pick up our boxes on December 4th and we are leaving right after that. We have tentatively planned for a stop at the Grand Canyon, but with a 17 month old, a dog, 2 cats and a cranky husband (JK I LOVE U) it may have to be Nixed! I am just being a realist. We will be heading for GA to spend our time off with our family of whom we have not seen for Christmas in 3 years. Incidentally I am trying to find one of cats a new home and have been trying for a few months now. If anyone is willing to take her it would help us out tramendously. She is a very sweet natured cat and very good with little children. We are going to be living on base and we are one pet over limit. I can send you pictures of her if want and if you would like to come and meet her that would be fine too. ~ Anyway, back to the travel plans. I am not sure when Madison and I will be going to KY? I may wait until Tony checks-in, gets our house assigned and our property has been delivered. I know Madison's Grandparent's won't mind us staying a few extra days =). So, if you are in GA and want to get together we will be in Buford, and Big Canoe through out the month and some of January. I will also come see you Stephanie and Sharon; maybe we can meet in the middle somewhere ;) There is so much going on and if I have sent you an email asking for your address and you haven't sent it yet ~please do as soon as you can. If you have sent it ~Tanks and bunch! If you have not been contacted about it, don't worry I have your info already. We are all super excited about this next phase of our lives. I will also probably retire this blog and start a new. . .We're on a countdown!
Okay today I got to see what it would have been like to have Twins. Madison got to play with Marti Lewis today and as you can see from the pictures great mom's think a like. We did not plan on dressing them in the same outfit but I almost died when she came around the corner. It was like looking at my daughter. Marti is only a few weeks younger than Madi, she is about an inch taller, but Madi has a good 2 lbs on her. They have the same color hair and when they wear the same clothes it is hard to tell them apart. I even got them to take a nap today in the same room at the same time; Madi's first sleep over LOL!!!
Marti is welcome any time Anne. Madison and Lizzy had soo much fun!
I have always loved animals, puppies to be more exact! So this year it's no surprise that Madi would be a Pink Poodle Puppy for Halloween. My dreams came true, I got to hold and pet my daughter/puppy this year! We took our pumpkins over to the Douglas's House and then Madi played with Peyton. They ran around the driveway a million and one times; I was sure she would be a sleep before Trick-or-treating! We went onto base after the older kids carved the pumpkins . We walked the neighborhood with the Rummler's. I didn't get an photos of them because my camera battery died =(. Stacy got some of them kids in their costume though. I felt really bad too about her costume being so warm, it was 89 degrees for Halloween night. I know we live in the desert but it is usually really cold here on Oct. 31st. We came home and Madi still didn't want to let go of her Halloween Pumpkin and candy!

Saturday we took Madison to Riley's Farm and Oak Tree Village in Glen Oak, CA and a couple of friends joined us, Justin and Nancy. It was a fun filled day of picking pumpkins, falling in the yucky dirt, taking pictures, petting horses, throwing apples, taking more pictures, riding ponies, petting pigs, feeding all sorts of animals, jumping around, skipping all naps and even more pictures! Madison picked out her pumpkin and we let her walk around, the first thing she did after she fell in the dirt was wipe her hands on her white top! I love the power of dreft!!!! After we paid for our pumpkins, we got a bag of apples and some yummy apple cider and headed off to Oak Tree Village a little further down the road. It was our first time at OTV so we didn't know what to expect. I knew they had a petting zoo because we actually met some of the animals the night before at a Fall Festival on base. So I came home and googled them. OTV, was a cute little 14 acres of country mountain fun in beautiful hills of CA. There was so much to do for the whole family. We walked through a reptile and marsupial house, with snakes-turtles-wallabies-rabbits-lizards-more snakes, then went to ride ponies, next was a petting zoo where we got to feed some goats and sheep, then on to a bouncey wonderland. We had tickets to ride a train but were told later that it broke down that morning, oh well you can never trust trains! We were all ready to leave and started to load up the truck, but I let the battery die! I had left our cooler plugged in and since my battery is 5 years old I guess it's time to replace it. . . .we got a jump off of some fellow 29 palms ladies and we were off. I was a little embarrassed but I will know to unplug that thing in the future~that's how we learn I suppose. The day was wrapped up with a stop at Chili's for some dinner and then up the hill to our wonderful desert home. It is sooo hard to imagine that we live so close to all that greenery and bounty when we see nothing but brown all around us everyday! Mommy and Daddy were just as tired as baby when we all got home from our long day of Fall Fun. . . .enjoy the pics and I also included some from the base Fall Festival.
I wanted to post a few slides of recent things before I get way too behind. Fall is definitely a busy time for everyone. I do have a bit of info about our next move. We are scheduling our TMO for the first week of December. Hopefully we can arrange them to pack us on December 1st. If that happens we should be able to leave CA around the 3rd or 4th. That will put us in GA around the 7th or 8th. Tony and I are going to stop in AZ at the Grand Canyon but with the baby and the pets we will see how that goes. It actually may be nice to let Madi out to walk around a bit.
Tony and I went to Big Bear Lake for Oktoberfest. We left Madi with a great sitter; I was still freaking out though. My first time overnight away from her AAAAAH! We have always enjoyed going to Helen, GA and we always wanted to go to Big Bear to see what their festival was like in comparison. I think the difference was that it was extremely cold here in CA (it even snowed the night we arrived) and it was more of a folksie event. We were able to hang out with our friends and rent a cabin. I of course thought of Madison the entire time and even though I knew her sitter was fully capable of taking care of her we would have still had a great time with her there also. She would have had a great time too because she just loves to be out and about. A little Social Butterfly!
I finally got the house decorated for Halloween and Madison helped me! First she was a little spider and then I got her poodle costume out and she had fun with that. . . .too adorable
We had a fun Friday Playgroup Picnic at our local park. We met with Peyton, Martin and Olivia for some mid morning fun. Madison wore me out running around the playground and when it was time to go she rebelled against my authority. Already giving me a run for my money! She had a great time sliding with Olivia and swinging with Martin, and of course having lunch with Peyton.
Lastly, I hope this is our last annual Twentynine Palms Pioneer Day's Parade and carnival. I thought last year would be but I know with the Marine Corps you never say "never again!" This year's parade was awesome because I knew a lot of people in it this time! Madison had a good time watching all the displays and waving at people and the honking of horns. I think this is our last PDP though ;) but we will see!
15 MONTHS OLD!
She is learning so many new words and talents it's hard to keep up with them all! Her new word is WOOOW; she hears me say it all the time. In this photo session she also is doing this thing where she puts her head on the floor and her butt in the air. This is a new trick, but I don't quite get it LOL! She is truly amazing and growing up so fast. Well I have been working on this all day and I have other stuff to get done so I better close for now, love and miss everyone!
I know it's really early in the morning here but I did get up even earlier; at 1am. I should be sleeping but I took some allergy medicine after breathing in all the dust from the circus tonight and the medication has woken me up. I slept about 4 hours, I should be good to go; NOT! Oh well, what can I do about it? Blog right? I should be doing laundry or something but I don't wanna! I have been blogging and making slides since 4am. So, Our house is probably not going to sell and therefore we're beginning to wrap our minds around the possibility of renting it. We will have no choice in the end anyway. Only the future will tell what will happen with Congress, the economy, the election and so forth. I have a few more plants to get in the ground (plan to do that tomorrow, if I am not sleeping) in the front and then I will take some pictures of the out side of the house. It is really beautiful now, some of our friends have even commented about being jealous and needing to spruce up there curbsides too! We certainly can't take credit for it though. We only paid for it to look good! Yes there are still a few things to do inside (grout in the bathroom, and closet guides in all the bedrooms), as well as, me unpacking and getting stuff stored again. Seems like a waste of time because we are moving soon but it's really not. It is no more work for me to pack it all back up again because next time someone else will do it. We are going to let the Marine Corps deal with all that headache; they will pay for moving and packing. I have this urge to get rid of some of our excess baggage anyway!
Well for the last 4 days Miss Madison has been rotten. So difficult, in fact that I made an appointment to see a pediatrician, but tonight the reason finally revealed itself. More teeth coming in! I don't really know how many she has because the little booger bites hard if you stick anything near her mouth. If it's food and she doesn't like it (which is everything), she spits it right back out. I find that with my finger though she won't let go until it thunders; just like a snapping turtle. So needless to say I just keep my fingers away from that little snapping turtles mouth! I am still going to take her to the appointment I made just to be sure nothing else is going on. . . . We took her to the Carson & Barnes circus tonight and it's still over 100 degrees out here. It was pretty hot under the big tent. She got hot when we were standing in line but as usual she spit her water all over her shirt and that cooled her off! It was a 3-ring circus and it was so much better than the first one we took her to! They had Elephants, Camels, Poodles dogs, Horses and Ponies, and a petting zoo. . . .we did let her ride an elephant. That was amazing to say the least. Just from riding on it's back for about a minute you could feel how warm the animal was! We could have let her ride a Camel but it was time to find a good seat before they were all taken. I think we found some good one's for watching all the shows. It was hard to keep up with all that was going on, a top notch performance overall!
Last weekend we took Madi to Landers, CA and visited the Integratron. You can google it for more information but it was Tony's and Madi's first trip. Our friends Lindsey and Joey Buffamonte came with us (also their first time). It was my 4th time going but I wish we had booked a private tour it would have been more enjoyable for Tony. He didn't care for the "public soundbath" either, so he took the baby downstairs while the sounds were being played on the bowls. He conducted a self-guided tour for all the Science Fiction information regarding "The Dome". As he was doing this the baby helped herself to someone else's juice YUCK and everyone's shoes ALSO YUCK. I prayed she wouldn't get sick from the desert dwellers and foreigners looking for spiritual enlightment HA HA HA (and so far so good)! I have always wanted to take Tony to see it and I am glad he go to experience it before we leave CA this winter. . . . . .After wards we went to Pioneertown and had dinner at Pappy and Harriets then walked through the old movie set/town. We didn't realize the shows in Pioneertown didn't go on Sunday's anymore; so no show. Next, we thought we would go to Target and let the guys drive go-karts. So we dropped them off at Boomers and us gals headed across the lot to shop. The guys came and found us to tell us that Joey couldn't do the go-karts because he was wearing sandals. So we looked around a bit and then headed for home. We decided to stop at Sonic but that was a disaster from the beginning! Long story short, we waited for 45 min and I made two trips there that night because part of my order (the babies food) was missing! It was a long day of disappointments but it was enjoyed with good company! We all rolled with the punches; I can't wait to do it again soon~without all the bad parts.

I love spending time with my husband (when he's around)and taking care of our family; that's grown! We have one cat, one dog and a Toddler! Madison Sierra joined the crew at 8:20am on July 03, 2007! She entered our family with a bang even though it wasn't the 4th of July yet. We are so in love with our daughter and each day is a new and exciting adventure. I love being a mom, it's a feeling that no one can explain to you, you have to experience it for yourself. I wish I had known sooner how awesome it would be! My heart is filled to the brim with pure joy; my spirit is at peace just knowing her. She is the best thing that ever happened to me and I thank God for her everyday! I am so honored and blessed that Madison chose me to be her mommy. Nothing else compares.
